Braden Fiske Injury Update: Rams Rookie Defensive Lineman to Undergo Knee Surgery

Los Angeles Rams rookie defensive lineman Braden Fiske will undergo minor knee surgery to repair an injury sustained in the playoffs, but is expected to be ready for the 2025 season.

Los Angeles Rams rookie defensive lineman Braden Fiske is set to undergo knee surgery to repair an injury he sustained during the team's Divisional Round matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL Playoffs. Rams head coach Sean McVay addressed the media on Thursday, describing the procedure as “minor” and assuring that it will not impact Fiske's availability for the start of the 2025 season.

Fiske's impressive rookie campaign has earned him a spot as a finalist for the Defensive Rookie of the Year award, alongside teammate Jared Verse. Despite starting only eight of the 17 games he played in, Fiske led the Rams with 8.5 sacks, while also accumulating 44 tackles, 10 quarterback hits, and two forced fumbles. His impressive performance has solidified his position as one of the NFL's top pass rushers.

Fiske's outstanding rookie season is a testament to his exceptional skills and work ethic. The Rams selected him with the 39th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Florida State, where he played only one season after transferring from Western Michigan. During his time at Western Michigan, Fiske recorded back-to-back six-sack seasons, which ultimately led to him entering the NFL draft. His rapid rise to prominence has been impressive, and he is expected to continue making significant contributions to the Rams' defense in the years to come.
