Australian sprinter Caleb Ewan has joined Ineos Grenadiers for the 2025 season, seeking to return to winning Grand Tour stages.
Australian sprinter Caleb Ewan has joined Ineos Grenadiers for the 2025 season, expressing his excitement about the opportunity to start winning Grand Tour stages again. Ewan, who has won five stages at both the Tour de France and Giro d'Italia, believes that Ineos Grenadiers will provide him with the ideal platform to return to his best form. “This is a really exciting new challenge for me and a fantastic opportunity to get back to my best with the incredible support of the Ineos Grenadiers,” he said.
Ewan's goal for the 2025 season is to return to winning big races, having not secured a major victory in a few years. Despite this, he remains confident in his abilities, stating “In 2025 my goal is to return to winning big races. It's been a few years since I've won some of those major events but I firmly believe I have it in me.” At 30 years old, Ewan feels that he still has plenty to offer, and with the guidance of Ineos Grenadiers, he is eager to rediscover his best form. “I'm still only 30, and with the right guidance and the expertise that Ineos brings, I believe I can rediscover my best form here.”
Ewan spent the previous season at Jayco-AlUla but has opted to switch to Ineos Grenadiers, believing that the team offers him the best chance to add to his impressive collection of major wins. While his race program for the 2025 season has not been finalized, Ewan is looking forward to discussing his schedule with the team. “We haven't finalised my race programme yet, but I'm looking forward to having those discussions with the team,” he said.
Ewan is one of six new signings for Ineos Grenadiers in 2025, joining fellow Australian Lucas Hamilton, French all-rounder Axel Laurance, and veteran Luxembourg racer Bob Jungels, among others. According to INEOS performance director Scott Drawer, the team's significant changes to their performance team will be crucial in enabling Ewan and other riders to challenge at every race. “We have made significant changes to our performance team for 2025 and that expertise will be key in enabling not only Caleb but all our riders, to be in the best possible position to challenge at every race,” Drawer said in a statement.
