The fan, a Chester FC supporter, was caught on camera making the racist gesture towards Warrington Town player Bohan Dixon after a teammate scored a goal. The match, attended by 2,296 fans, descended into chaos as objects were thrown onto the pitch. Video footage of the incident was shared on social media, sparking widespread discussion and outrage among fans.
Chester FC initially responded to the incident, stating that they were “angry and dismayed at an instance of racism.” The club pledged to share its video and photographic evidence with Cheshire Police. In a strong condemnation of the fan's behaviour, Chester FC emphasized that “Racism has no place in sport or society, and anyone found to have displayed such behavior will receive an indefinite ban from attending matches.”
Chester FC has strongly condemned the actions of a minority of fans who failed to behave responsibly during the match. The club is now facing an investigation by the Football Association. In a statement, Chester FC expressed its disappointment and frustration with the behavior of a small group of fans.

The match between Warrington Town and Chester FC was marked by drama, with Warrington captain Josh Amis being sent off for violent conduct shortly after his team scored in the 73rd minute. However, Harrison Burke scored a late equalizer for Chester in the 85th minute, securing a 1-1 draw. This result left Warrington in 18th place in the 24-team league, just three points above the relegation zone, while Chester climbed to seventh, narrowly securing a play-off spot.
A spokeswoman for Cheshire Police confirmed that an incident occurred during the match, stating, “During the match between Warrington FC and Chester FC on Saturday, November 30, police were made aware of a racially aggravated public order offence.” The incident in question involved a Chester FC fan making racist gestures towards Warrington Town player Bohan Dixon, which was captured on camera and widely shared on social media.
“The suspect was identified and was due to be spoken to at a later date regarding the incident.
