Lecce secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Venezia in a Serie A relegation battle, thanks to Patrick Dorgu's decisive goal. The win propelled Lecce out of the relegation zone and within four points of the top half of the table.

Both teams were mired in the relegation zone before kickoff, with Venezia languishing at the bottom of the table with just eight points from their first 12 matches. Lecce were two places and one point above them, making the match a critical encounter for both sides.
