Empoli and Udinese played to a 1-1 draw in their Serie A match, with Keinan Davis' late header cancelling out Pietro Pellegri's earlier goal.

Empoli and Udinese played to a 1-1 draw in a closely contested Serie A match on Monday evening. Keinan Davis scored the equalizing goal for Empoli, cancelling out Pietro Pellegri's third consecutive goal in league fixtures.

The two teams were separated by just one point and one position in the Serie A table heading into the match. Udinese, who had started the season as league leaders, had slipped to ninth place, while Empoli occupied 10th position.

Empoli's manager, Kosta Runjaic, made only one change to his starting lineup, whereas Udinese's Roberto D'Aversa made several alterations to his team.

The match's opening goal came in the 23rd minute, courtesy of Pietro Pellegri. He received a pass from Liberato Cacace, turned his defender, and scored past Maduka Okoye to give Udinese a 1-0 lead.

Pietro Pellegri's goal was a rare moment of precision for Empoli, who managed only two shots on target throughout the entire 90 minutes. In contrast, Udinese dominated possession, controlling 70% of the ball, and unleashed 16 attempts on goal, although only three of these efforts found their mark.

The visitors' pressure eventually paid off with just 15 minutes remaining. Keinan Davis equalized for Empoli, scoring a powerful header from six yards out after a pinpoint corner delivery from Sandi Lovric.

Monday's 1-1 draw has had minimal impact on the Serie A standings. Empoli and Udinese remain in ninth and 10th place, respectively, with only a single point separating them. The status quo is maintained, with neither team able to gain a decisive advantage.
