Heidenheim manager Frank Schmidt has spoken ahead of his team's highly anticipated Conference League fixture against Chelsea. The German side has made a strong start to the competition, winning their first three games, and now face a daunting task against the Premier League giants.
Schmidt expressed his surprise at the timing of the fixture, saying: “The fact Chelsea are now coming after we've won the first three games is honestly quite hard to believe.”
However, the Heidenheim manager is under no illusions about the challenge that lies ahead. He acknowledged that Chelsea are not coming to Heidenheim for a friendly match, stating: “But the fact is they're not coming here for a friendly, we don't have to pay them. It's a competitive fixture.”
