Cucurella, who is close friends with Fernandez, praised his teammate's professionalism and dedication. “I'm really happy for him. We are close friends and I think he deserves it. He's a top professional and he's had a few games when he didn't start, but he worked hard and he deserved this game,” Cucurella said.

Fernandez's goal, combined with Nicolas Jackson's strike, secured Chelsea's win against Leicester City. Jordan Ayew scored a penalty for the home team, but it was not enough to prevent Chelsea's victory.
