Atalanta extended their winning streak to seven consecutive Serie A victories, defeating Parma 3-1. Mateo Retegui, Ederson, and Ademola Lookman scored for La Dea, while Giorgio Scalvini made his return.

Atalanta entered the international break on impressive form, but several key players were sidelined, including Sead Kolasinac, Davide Zappacosta, Ben Godfrey, and Gianluca Scamacca.

Parma welcomed back Hernani from injury, but still missed Adrian Bernabé, Mateusz Kowalski, Alessandro Circati, and Lautaro Valenti.

It took less than four minutes for Atalanta to take the lead, with Mateo Retegui scoring his latest goal. Retegui effortlessly steered in Raoul Bellanova's cross from the right, increasing his tally as the league's top scorer.

Ange-Yoan Bonny skillfully turned his defender, but his curled shot sailed inches wide. Ademola Lookman thought he had scored again in the eighth minute, but was ruled offside after Mario Pasalic's clever back-heel assist.

Pasalic missed a tap-in opportunity, and Mateo Retegui's glancing header flashed narrowly wide. In a shocking miss, Retegui ballooned the ball over the bar from Ederson's pull-back, with the goal gaping open.

Lookman continued to threaten, steering a header just wide from Raoul Bellanova's cross. However, Atalanta finally doubled their lead when Matteo Ruggeri rolled the ball across the face of goal from the left, allowing Ederson to tap in at the back post.

Zion Suzuki made a crucial save to deny Ademola Lookman's solo effort, and then quickly got down to fingertip Matteo Ruggeri's angled drive past the far post.

Marco Carnesecchi was also tested just before halftime, pushing away Ange-Yoan Bonny's strike and a sudden long-range snapshot.

Parma pulled a goal back after the restart through a stunning Cancellieri finish. He gathered the ball with his back to goal, turned between Rafael Toloi and Isak Hien, and smashed a left-footed shot into the roof of the net.

Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini was sent off from the touchline after receiving two yellow cards in under a minute for dissent.

Rafael Toloi's attempted clearance went awry, hitting his own arm, but it was deemed unintentional handball.

Ademola Lookman thought he had scored again on 72 minutes, but was ruled offside for the third time, this time from Ederson's back-heel flick.

However, Lookman finally got his goal, scoring from point-blank range at the back post after Juan Cuadrado's cross from the right.

Atalanta and Italy received a boost with Giorgio Scalvini's earlier-than-expected return from injury. Scalvini made his comeback after undergoing surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament in June.

Ederson won player of the match.
