Adamawa State takes action against child abuse: Five men arraigned in court.



The Adamawa State Police Command has arraigned five individuals for criminal conspiracy and defilement of a minor at the Chief Magistrate Court I in Yola. The suspects, all from Yola town, are Ibrahim Aliyu, Muhammed Adamu, Gaddafi Adamu, Usman Umar, and Musa Isa.


According to the police spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroji, the presiding judge, Magistrate Alheri Ishaku, ordered the defendants to be remanded in prison custody pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.


The prosecution alleges that the defendants conspired to rape the victim, a minor from Mafia Quarters in Yola. A DNA test revealed that Ibrahim Aliyu was responsible for the victim's pregnancy, violating Sections 60 and 211 of the Penal Code Laws.


“Addressing the court after the plea of the defendants, the command prosecutor said whether the defendants pleaded guilty or not, the second leg of the offences is capital in nature and prayed the court to remand them pending legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions DPP.”
