Tragic news from Ukraine: three people, including a child, lost their lives in a Russian drone strike on Sumy. The attack, part of a broader overnight assault, targeted residential areas and critical infrastructure, according to Ihor Kalchenko, head of the regional administration staff. Kalchenko shared haunting images of smoldering debris and damaged homes on his Telegram account.

The Ukrainian military reported a successful defense, stating: “Air defences had destroyed 42 out of 60 drones launched by Russia over various parts of Ukraine.” 

Additionally, they noted that “another 10 were locationally lost.”

A Russian drone attack hit a bus stop in Kherson, Ukraine, early Tuesday morning, October 22, leaving one woman injured, according to regional officials. This incident is the latest in a string of attacks targeting populated areas beyond the front lines.

Despite Russia's claims that it doesn't target civilians, its full-scale invasion, which began in February 2022, has frequently involved launching missiles and drones at populated areas. This has resulted in numerous civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure. The international community has raised concerns about Russia's actions, emphasizing the need to protect civilians and adhere to international humanitarian law.
