Mo Abudu, CEO of EbonyLife Media, has achieved international recognition as one of “The Hollywood Reporter's” 2024 'Most Powerful Women in International Television.' This esteemed annual list honors 31 trailblazing women globally, with Abudu being the sole African representative.


“The Hollywood Reporter” praised Abudu and her fellow honorees for demonstrating unwavering resilience and determination amidst the media industry's economic challenges. Their remarkable achievements serve as testament to the power of women in shaping the future of television.


Taking to Instagram, Mo Abudu celebrated her recognition as one of “The Hollywood Reporter's” 2024 'Most Powerful Women in International Television.' She expressed heartfelt gratitude and envisioned a future where African women are increasingly acknowledged for their pivotal roles in shaping global storytelling.


Abudu emphasized the need to transcend tokenistic representation, urging a more inclusive approach that showcases the richness and diversity of African narratives. By doing so, she hopes to create opportunities for authentic African voices to resonate globally.


“As I mentioned in my interview for this report, the sense of tokenism with global gatekeepers and commissioners needs to end. African stories are as diverse and varied as the continent itself, rich in culture, history, and creativity,” she wrote.
