Air Peace Explains London Flight Diversion to Manchester - weather conditions cause delay.
Air Peace has revealed the reason behind the diversion of its London-bound flight from Nigeria. The flight, P47578, initially departed from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Thursday night, destined for London Gatwick, but was rerouted due to unfavorable weather conditions.
According to Air Peace's statement on Friday, the flight's departure was delayed until 2am from Lagos due to forecasts of poor weather at London Gatwick. This precautionary measure led to the diversion to Manchester.
“This decision was made in accordance with standard safety protocols, and after careful assessment of expected improvements in visibility,” the airline explained.
“However, some minutes into the flight's arrival in London, the weather deteriorated below the required minimum, necessitating a diversion to Manchester Airport to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew.
“We are pleased to inform the public that the flight has since departed Manchester and safely arrived at Gatwick Airport.
“Air Peace sincerely empathises for the inconvenience this incident may have caused our esteemed passengers. The safety and well-being of our passengers and crew remain our top priority.
“We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our passengers throughout this process. We thank our customers and flying public for their patience and continued trust in Air Peace.”
