Wizkid Shades Davido
“Pu**y boys dropping mid again...”
Wizkid & Davido's bitter feud escalates: Latest insults & shade thrown in explosive social media exchange.
Grammy-winning singer, Wizkid (Ayodeji Balogun), has reignited his longstanding feud with fellow artist Davido (David Adeleke), triggering a fiery exchange among fans on social media.
The drama unfolded on Tuesday when Davido announced his highly-anticipated first single of 2024, a track celebrating Nigeria's 64th Independence Day. However, Wizkid appeared unimpressed, taking to his X page to post a cryptic message.
“Pussy boys dropping mid again,” Wizkid wrote, followed by “Una don tire! Make una go rest small.” Although Davido wasn't explicitly mentioned, the shade was unmistakable, sparking widespread speculation that Wizkid was targeting his rival.
Wizkid's subtle jab ignited a heated debate among fans, with many rushing to defend their favorite artist. The tension between Wizkid and Davido has been simmering for years, and this latest exchange has revived the intense rivalry between two of Nigeria's biggest music stars.
The fan clapped back, suggesting Wizkid was using Davido's name to generate buzz. “You're chasing clout with Davido's name,” the fan wrote, implying Wizkid was trying to stay relevant by associating himself with his rival.
Wizkid refused to back down, disparaging Davido's vast musical library and insisting that his own catalog stands out as the more impressive and enduring.
The user wrote: “So if you no beef @davido your song won't sell?”
Responding, Wizkid said: “I don't beef wack niggas! We all know he's wack! No talent.”
Wizkid escalated the feud, trashing Davido's entire music catalog as inferior, and boasting that his own discography surpasses Davido's in quality and impact.
He continued: “80 trash! We got 80 albums for any song y'all drop! Pussy boys.”
Davido has maintained radio silence following Wizkid's recent jabs, opting not to fuel the ongoing feud.
This isn't the first public spat between the two music heavyweights. In May, a heated exchange erupted on X after Wizkid poked fun at Davido and Don Jazzy, the esteemed Mavin Records founder.
Wizkid sparked the May controversy by referring to Don Jazzy as merely an “influencer,” and further taunted Davido by sharing a video of him on his knees, emotionally pleading for fans to await his new music.
The tension between Wizkid and Davido has been simmering for years, with periodic public displays of disdain. Their rivalry continues to captivate fans and spark intense debate within the music community.
Davido swiftly fired back, declaring Wizkid's music career “dead” in a scathing retort.
