EFL: Brighton Advances to Carabao Cup Fourth Round with 3-2 Win Over Wolves



Brighton secure dramatic 3-2 win over Wolves in Carabao Cup, with goals from Baleba, Adingra, and Kadioglu sealing sixth consecutive unbeaten match.



Brighton and Hove Albion secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup third round, marking their sixth unbeaten game under manager Fabian Hurzeler. The win was sealed with goals from Carlos Baleba, Simon Adingra, and Ferdi Kadioglu, with Wolves' Goncalo Guedes and Tommy Doyle scoring for the visitors.


Brighton dominated the first half, with Baleba opening the scoring in the 14th minute with a stunning left-footed strike from outside the box. Adingra doubled the lead in the 31st minute, cutting inside from the left and firing past Wolves keeper Jose Sa. However, Wolves pulled one back just before halftime through Guedes' clinical finish.


In the second half, Wolves pushed for an equalizer, with Rodrigo Gomes and Guedes creating chances, but Brighton keeper Jason Steele made crucial saves to deny them. 


The turning point came when Jack Hinshelwood cleared Adam Webster's potential own goal off the line, preserving Brighton's lead.


Kadioglu then sealed the win with his first goal for the club in the 85th minute, before Doyle's late strike made for a nervy finish.
