The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has assured Nigerians of improved security measures, citing a significant decrease in crime rates across the country. He made this statement after a routine security briefing with President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja, where security chiefs presented updates on the current security situation.
Following the meeting, General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defense Staff, announced that the military is working diligently to restore full oil production, with a target of 2.1 million barrels per day. He issued a stern warning to criminals involved in infrastructure destruction and crude oil theft, emphasizing that their activities would be swiftly curtailed by military action.
The meeting with the president comes at a time when Nigerians are planning nationwide protests against the prevailing insecurity and food scarcity issues.
