“I don't own an apartment in the US or the UK; instead, I rent one in Abuja,” Dangote divulges...

Aliko Dangote, Africa's richest person, reveals he rents an apartment in Abuja, Nigeria, and has no properties in the US or UK, prioritizing Nigerian industrialization over international investments.

The richest person in Africa, Aliko Dangote, has made it clear that the house he lives in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, is not his own property.

Speaking on Sunday, July 14, at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, the businessman underlined that his main motivation for not owning real estate abroad is his dedication to Nigerian industrialization.

Dangote revealed that in 1996, he sold the London home he had previously owned.

“The reason I don't have a London or America house is solely because I wanted to focus on industrialization in Nigeria.

“I figured that if I had those houses, there would be one reason or the other for me to visit those places thereby causing distraction for me.

“I am very passionate about the Nigeria dream and apart from my Lagos house, I have another one in my home state Kano, and a rented one in Abuja,” he revealed.

Group Executive Director of Commercial Operations Fatima Dangote commended Dangote for his steadfast dedication to the Nigerian dream in her closing remarks.

She continued, saying: “I have not seen anyone as hardworking as my father, sometimes I wonder how he never gives up.

“I wish we have a few more men like my father in Nigeria, the country will be a better place,” she said.
