Tinubu orders the immediate completion of all inland dry ports across the country.

In order to improve business, international trade, and job possibilities for Nigerians, President Bola Tinubu has directed that all currently operating inland dry ports throughout the nation be completed as soon as possible.

This directive was given by Tinubu on Thursday, May 9, during the opening of an inland dry port in Funtua, Katsina State.

Sen. George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, represented the President, who emphasized that inland dry ports will support economic diversification in line with his Renewed Hope Agenda.

In an effort to reduce seaport congestion and enhance international business practices, he gave the Nigerian Shippers Council and the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy instructions to ensure that all dry ports are utilized.

The inauguration of the Funtua Inland Dry Port, he emphasized, would greatly improve job possibilities in the area and would be a huge step forward in Nigeria's economic development.

The President further stressed that in order to facilitate the movement of commodities from seaports to dry ports in the interior areas, the Federal Government is actively renovating highways.

He urged the local people and the Katsina State Government to view the facility as a national asset and to take steps to conserve it for the sake of the entire nation.
