With two goals against Spurs, Haaland gives Man City a lead in the Premier League

Tuesday's English Premier League (EPL) match between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur ended in a 2-0 victory thanks to two goals from Erling Haaland in the second half at the London stadium.

The Norwegian striker made it obvious that Man City is determined to successfully defend their title on the last day of the season, punishing Tottenham for being denied by the visiting goalkeeper.

Tottenham had the better start and forced City goalkeeper Ederson Moraes into a fantastic save. But City gradually warmed up to the match, and Phil Foden's attempt forced Guglielmo Vicario to make a spectacular save. Towards the end of the half, Man City was denied by a double block and an offside flag.

Pep Guardiola's team picked up the pace in the second half, with Vicario stopping Kevin de Bruyne before Haaland struck first six minutes in.

The six-foot striker scored the game's first goal 1-0 by burying de Bruyne's low cross at the perfect moment. Due to an injury, Ederson was substituted, and Stefan Ortega continued where the Brazilian left off.

When facing the South Korean player one-on-one, he blocked Dejan Kulusevski's shot with his leg and denied Heun-Min Son.

Padro Poro's tackle on Jeremy Doku gave Man City a lifeline, as Haaland sent Vicario the wrong way with a powerful spot kick to seal a 2-0 victory.

With 27 goals, Haaland tops the Premier League scoring table and is a lock to earn many Golden Boots.

With 88 points from 37 games, Man City leads Arsenal by two heading into Sunday's last day of the season. This victory restores Man City's position atop the EPL.

Tottenham, on the other hand, can only place fifth or below, which means they will once more miss out on playing in the Champions League the following year.
