Police rescue 7 more students abducted from Kogi university
The successful recovery of an additional seven kidnapped students from Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), in Kogi State, was announced by Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun.
The commissioner of the Kogi State Police Command, SP William Aya, disclosed this most recent event on Thursday, May 16, making the total number of kids who had been rescued to 21.
The rescue mission required the deployment of the police security apparatus's aerial component, which included teams for monitoring, the Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU) to the state, and a specially trained helicopter crew for aerial observation.
He emphasized the significance of maintaining constant vigilance until all kidnapped individuals are safely released and offenders are brought to justice. He praised the united team's meticulous work and unwavering dedication, which resulted in the rescue of the extra seven victims.
Aya said she was happy with how the rescue efforts were going and praised the security services, state hunters, and local vigilantes for their excellent coordination, cooperation, and synergy.
The declaration stated, “The Commissioner of Police uses this medium to thank and appreciate the Inspector-General of Police for the deployment of the air component, the security personnel, and vigilantes/hunters for their show of unprecedented and undiluted patriotism and altruism.
“And to the good people of Kogi State and the vibrant Press, for their show of concern and empathy.
“The CP continues to solicit the cooperation, collaboration and solidarity of the good people of confluence state with the police and other security Agencies because together, we shall ensure adequate Security of life and property of law-abiding citizens in the State.”
