Senator Ayogu Eze Passes On
SENATOR Ayogu Eze, a former lawmaker, has passed away.
Following a lengthy illness, he passed away at the age of 65 in a hospital in Abuja.
According to sources, Eze had been unwell, which prevented him from going to his child's wedding in Lagos State earlier in the year.
He played a crucial role as the Senate's image creator while serving as the senator for Enugu North.
Prior to defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and running for governor of Enugu State, he was a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In the Senate, he became the official spokesperson of the body in 2007 when he was named chairman of the Senate Committee on Information and Media.
He was named chairman of the committee on works upon his senate reelection in 2011.
Also, Eze participated in committees pertaining to Federal Character & Inter-Government Affairs, Marine Transport, National Planning, and Police Affairs.
