NAF Defeats 30 Terrorists And 3 Terrorist Leaders
THREE terrorist kingpins and thirty of their foot troops were eliminated in Borno State as a consequence of an operation carried out by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).
The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) leaders in Kolleram, a village near Lake Chad, were the target of the airstrikes.
Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, the NAF spokesperson, acknowledged this mission, which took place on Saturday, April 13, in a statement issued on Tuesday, April 16.
The targeted precision strikes eliminated the known terrorist leaders, Ali Dawud, Mallam Ari, and Bakurah Fallujah, while also destroying a large portion of ISWAP's operational infrastructure.
The airstrikes, according to Gabkwet, destroyed a large number of terrorist cars, motorcycles, and logistical assets that were essential to their operations.
Stressing the strategic significance of these attacks, he disclosed that the bombardment successfully destroyed a key facility inside the Kolleram enclave.
This building included vital machinery and functioned as the terrorists' main hub for food production operations.
He remarked, “Intelligence gathered after the air strike further indicated that the aerial bombardment effectively obliterated a key facility within the Kolleram enclave, which served as a hub for the terrorists' food processing activities, including grinding machines.”
He added that these bombings are a supplement to the ongoing operations of ground forces in the Lake Chad region.
This concerted effort shows significant progress in thwarting extremist threats, which is an important development in Nigeria's continuous war against terrorism.
