Man Died In Church Premise In Lagos


On Friday, March 29, it was discovered that a middle-aged guy had passed away in his car in Mechanic Village in the Lagos State neighborhood of Idimu.


The man, only known by his initials AJ, was in a local church celebrating Good Friday when it happened.


An eyewitness claimed that the deceased briefly left the service to get something from his parked car on the church grounds, but he never came back.


When he saw the dead sitting in his car, a another churchgoer said he tried to start a discussion but got no response. Anxious, the person drew nearer and saw the man was motionless.


“Efforts were made to revive him, but he was already foaming from his mouth and that was when we realized he was dead” the church member said.


As a result of the occurrence, which raised fears across the neighborhood, the church service was called to a close, and AJ's wife got consoling from other women in the congregation for her awful loss.


“It was a sad day for us because nobody saw that coming. We could no longer go ahead with the service. We prepared refreshments for members that day, but no one could eat. We also tried all we could to console his wife,” another church member stated.



An additional piece of evidence supporting the occurrence came from a mechanic who was on the location for another assignment and observed the churchgoers' support for AJ's mourning husband.


“I came to fix my customer's car in the mechanic village when the incident happened. The members were all moody. The wife of the deceased was also sitting on the floor while the female members of the church were consoling her,” he said.
