EPL: Arsenal Defeats Chelsea 5-0 To Hold Onto The Top Spot

ARSENAL defeated Chelsea 5-0 with four goals in the space of twenty minutes in the second half on Tuesday night, in their English Premier League (EPL) encounter at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners crushed Chelsea, inflicting further suffering on the Blues, thanks to an early strike from Leandro Trossard and two more goals from Ben White and Kai Havertz.

Arsenal FC aimed to maintain their title challenge, and they took control from the outset, while Chelsea arrived to the Emirates in disarray after losing to Manchester City in their FA Cup semi-final over the weekend.

Trossard scored from a close range to give Arsenal the lead after four minutes.

Petrovic atoned for his mistakes by making a series of superb stops to prevent Arsenal from increasing their advantage and was successful heading into halftime.

Arsenal, however, broke through his resistance as a barrage of goals came from White's tap-in of a rebound on minute 52 and Havertz's two additional goals to give Arsenal a four goal lead.

White's misplaced cross into the upper corner sealed the defeat as Mikel Arteta's team humiliated their dysfunctional London neighbors.

Chelsea's manager, Mauricio Pochettino, prolonged his dismal run at the Emirates with the latest setback against Arsenal, who have now won five straight games against the Blues.

Chelsea is still in ninth place with 47 points after 32 games, while title-chasing Arsenal leads the Premier League with 77 points from 34 games, three points ahead of Liverpool.
