EFCC Chairman Appoints 14 Zonal Directors And The New Chief Of Staff
THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Chairman Ola Olukoyede has appointed 14 Zonal Directors and Michael Nzekwe as his Chief of Staff.
Regarded as an excellent investigator, Nzekwe, a former Commander of the Ilorin Zonal Command and attorney, offers a wealth of expertise to his current position.
On Saturday, April 27, the announcement was made in a statement issued by Dele Oyewale, the Head of Publicity for the Commission.
Nzekwe's nomination demonstrates the EFCC's dedication to effective leadership and operational effectiveness. Nzekwe has experience working in a variety of Commission areas, including Legal and Prosecution, Operations, Internal Affairs, Servicom, and Asset Forfeiture.
The chairman said, “A seasoned administrator, he has attended several trainings and courses home and abroad, including the Advance Defence Intelligence Officers Course organised by Defence Intel Agency, DIA.
“The appointment takes immediate effect and he has assumed duties.”
Ola Olukoyede has also made adjustments within the agency in an effort to reorganize and improve its efficacy.
The Commission has promoted all 14 of its zonal commands to departmental level, with directors now in charge of each.
The Security Unit has been elevated to a full-fledged department in order to strengthen the Commission's security framework. A seasoned officer has been appointed as Director, Security, and Chief Security Officer.
Additionally, Friday Ebelo, the previous Makurdi Zonal Commander, is in charge of a newly created department in the Executive Chairman's office.
The Department of Ethics and Integrity has replaced the Department of Internal Affairs, however certain other departments at headquarters have undergone minor reorganizations.
