Bobrisky Held In Male Facility, We'll Protect Him From Sexual Predators — Nigerian Correctional Service
ACCORDING to representatives of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, is a crossdresser who enjoys dressing up as women. He will spend his six months in prison in the male portion of the facility.
He had earlier acknowledged being a man during his Friday appearance at the Federal High Court in Lagos State.
He was sentenced to six months in prison by Justice Abimbola Awogboro for misusing the naira, with no chance of fines.
When the judge questioned him on his gender prior to the sentence, he promptly identified himself as a guy.
“Are you a man or a woman?” the judge inquired. In response, Bobrisky said, “I am a man.”
According to Awogboro, the verdict will serve as a warning to anyone who might be detected misusing or disfiguring naira.
The judge decided that the day of his arrest, March 24, 2024, was the start of the jail sentence.
Bobrisky entered a guilty plea to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission's accusation of misusing the naira, and on April 5th, the court found him guilty.
Following his conviction last Friday, Bobrisky begged the judge to impose a lighter sentence on him because he was unaware of the law regarding naira abuse.
He pleaded with the court during his allocutus that he was ignorant of the law regarding naira abuse.
He stated to have more than five million followers on social media.
The judge then informed him that not knowing the law did not qualify as an excuse.
He said, “I know, My Lord. My Lord, I wish that you could give me a second chance to use my platform to inform and educate my followers about spraying money. I would do a video on my page, and I would educate people about spraying money. I will not repeat it, My Lord. I regret my actions, My Lord.”
