Kidnappers want N500 million in exchange for Tony Aziegbemi, the PDP chairman

Tony Aziegbemi, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, has reportedly been kidnapped. His captors have reportedly been in touch with his family and demanded a ransom of N500 million.

Around 11 p.m. on March 15, in Benin, Edo State, on Idaro Street off Country Home Road, the gunmen abducted Aziegbemi.

Aziegbemi was allegedly abducted while leaving a meeting at the Government House and driving home when he was diverted and taken captive in front of his driver, who was trying to get over a speed limit.

According to a source, the kidnappers contacted the victim's relatives and requested #500 million as ransom to release him.

The source said, “I don't know what the family members are doing to raise the money or if the party, the PDP, is doing anything to assist them.”
