Salary Award For November Is Being Made Available By FG

The unresolved N35,000 Wages Award for the month of November 2023 has been paid by the Federal Government.

However at one point, the government stopped paying the wage award, a decision that stakeholders and activists criticized.

The announcement coincided with rumors that the government had reduced the 2023 supplemental budget's wage award allocation by N100 billion.

The Trade Union Congress also urged the government to pay civil servants the wage awards or face industrial action, while the Nigeria Labour Congress deemed the government's actions to be dishonorable.

Some senior civil servants reportedly stated that some employees had begun to receive their November 2023 pay award.

“Payment came in this morning, others have also confirmed receipt in my agency,” according to source.

Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, the minister of state for labor, announced that the government would once more start paying wage awards in response to an ultimatum issued by organized labor.
