Nigerian Nurses To Work For 2 Years Before They Can Practice Abroad

Nigerian nurses cannot practice abroad until they have worked for two years following their team qualification says Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).

Nigerian nurses and midwives must have worked for at least two years after receiving their permanent practice license, according to the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), in order for foreign nursing boards or councils to validate their credentials.

In addition, the Council stated that applications with provisional licenses will be categorically refused. Applicants must hold an active practicing license with a minimum of six months remaining on their license.

The updated instructions for verifying the certificate(s) were signed by Dr. Faruk Umar Abubakar, the Registrar/Secretary General of the NMCN, and included this information.
