Troops Capture A Female Kidnapper Trying To Pick Ransom In Taraba

A female abductor was apprehended in Taraba while attempting to extract a N1.5 million ransom.



Janet Igohia, a 31-year-old female kidnapper, was apprehended while attempting to collect a ransom for a victim who had been kidnapped in Taraba.


The suspect was apprehended by Nigerian Army soldiers from 93 Battalion, 6 Bridget, after receiving N1.5 million as ransom for the release of a victim who had been kidnapped in the Chanchangi area of Takum LGA.


According to a statement made by Lieutenant Oni Olubodunde, the Bridget's spokeswoman, the suspect was wed to Voryor Gata, a renowned criminal and the late Gana Terwase's former second-in-command.


“She is currently married to the leader of a violent extremist group in southern Taraba. According to her, she had previously been married to high profile criminals such as late Terkibi Gemaga aka Mopol, a notorious kidnapper who was killed by troops five years ago.


“She revealed that she also got married to late Gana Terwase, another notorious criminal who was killed during a joint special force operation three years ago,” he said.
