A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the arrest of Edison Ehie, the chief of staff to Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State.



Governor Sim Fubara's chief of staff, Ehie Edison, has been placed under arrest by a federal high court on charges that he was involved in the burning of the Rivers State House of Assembly.


The former factional Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Mr. Ehie, was ordered to be arrested along with five other Port Harcourt-based individuals for allegedly engaging in various criminal activities.


Jinjiri Bala, Happy Benedict, Progress Joseph, Adokiye Oyagiri, and Chibuike Peter, also known as Rambo, are among those who were ordered to be arrested along with the former factional Speaker.


Judge Emeka Nwite issued an order for their arrest while making a decision in an ex-parte application that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) had submitted to him


The ex-parte application was predicated on sections 37, 113, 114, 84 and 184 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015 and section 35 of the 1999 Constitution as well as 32 of the Police Act 2020.
