Chaos As Bandits Kidnap Director Close To Abuja Military Base

Bandits kidnap the director of the Federal Housing Authority near an Abuja military camp

Bandits, on Thursday, abducted a director in Federal Housing Authority, Federal Capital Territory, identified as Aondo Ver, from his home, during an attack about 200 metres close to a military base in Pambara in the Bwari Area Council of Abuja.

The bandits abducted the person at around 12.30 am on Thursday and fled through the bushes after firing randomly and inciting fear in the neighborhood.

According to residents who verified the information with our correspondent on Thursday, military personnel were positioned at a military base commonly referred to as “camp,” approximately 200 meters distant from the location where the director was kidnapped in Pambara Extension.

They added that civilians and active and retired military personnel were among the locals who were attacked by bandits.

According to a source, “Bandits attacked Pambara Extension over the night, at about 12:30 am today (Thursday), and they abducted one of our neighbours, Mr Aondo Ver, who is a Director in Federal Housing Authority, FCT.

“The attack happened very close to a camp, the military base at the entrance of Bwari very close to Pambara Extension. The part of Pambara Extension where Mr Ver was kidnapped is just about 200 metres away from the military base. But the kidnappers escaped through the bushes with the victim.”

Another resident added, “The attack is still shocking to us. Our estate is very close to the military base here known as 'camp at the entrance of Bwari, and there are also serving and retired military personnel living with us here, yet these bandits were bold enough to attack this place and kidnap Mr Ver.”
