Parents Of OnlyFans Model Accused Of Murder Arrested
The OnlyFans model's parents were detained and charged with falsifying evidence related to her boyfriend's death.
According to fresh warrants, the parents of Courtney Clemney, the OnlyFans model who is suspected of stabbing her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli, to death in 2022, were detained in Austin, Texas, after authorities claimed they had access to the boyfriend's laptop following the killing.
According to documents obtained by CBS Mews, Kim and Deborah Clenney were detained without bond for another agency after being booked at 2:34 p.m. by the Travis County Sheriff's Office on charges of felonies committed outside of the state.
The arrest warrant affidavit charges Kim Dewayne Clenney, 60, Deborah Lyn Clenney, 57, and Courtney, 27, with one count of gaining unauthorized access to Christian Obumseli's computer, computer system, or electronic device.
According to reports, Clenney says she stabbed Christian Obumseli in their Miami apartment back in 2022 out of self-defense. TMZ, however, revealed on Tuesday that Obumseli's laptop, which was found by the father after it was left at the couple's shared apartment, is the reason behind the social media influencer's parents' arrests.
A large number of Obumseli's possessions were removed from the condo following his murder, per the new warrants. According to the warrants, Courtney Clenney's cellphone, her iCloud account, and her parents' iCloud accounts had all been requested by the authorities looking into his death
Investigators were able to access messages between Courtney Clenney's parents and attorneys through a group chat after they obtained search warrants for the iCloud accounts and Apple complied. According to the warrant, there was talk about Obumseli's laptop and how to access it in the chat, including a mention of using password guessing to gain access.
“Are there any PIN/passwords we can try before you see her tomorrow?” Kim Clenney wrote in one message, according to the warrants. He later determined the PIN was a number and not letters and the next day wrote “Hell yeah! That PIN worked!” according to the warrants.
“Kim. Hold off on going through the computer please. I don't want to turn you into a witness just yet if you find something useful,” one of the attorneys wrote, according to the warrants.
According to the warrants, the parents and lawyers also talked about possibly shipping the laptop. "When it comes to potential evidence, we always have to consider 'chain of custody' issues and don't necessarily want to take the risk something gets 'lost' in mail," a lawyer wrote.
“Also, as I'm sure you guessed by me[SIC] prior text, we don't want you accessing files because the State Attorneys could request their own independent analysis of the hard drive and accuse you of creating or modifying files,” another attorney messaged, “That's why I want to put a quick pause on that. Obviously I know you would not do that but we want to maintain that credibility.”
“I had barely opened it and was starting to poke around, but we started a video call so I stopped,” Kim Clenney messaged, according to the warrant. “Never opened a file, so I didn't see anything.”
“I'd also like for you to have the laptop soon, so you can see if there's anything of use to us on it,” Kim Clenney wrote in a message sent a few days later, according to the warrants. Documents indicated that the laptop was ultimately given to the defense lawyers. However, Florida law states that it is unlawful to access someone's computer without that person's consent, or in Obumseli's case, his estate's consent.
A new video that was released on January 11, 2024, revealed the tumultuous relationship that Clemney, the model for Only Fans, had with her boyfriend in the months prior to his fatal stabbing. The Miami-Dade County State Attorney's Office made the video available as part of a plethora of fresh evidence in the case.
Clenney is seen striking Obumsell more than a dozen times in the video while visiting Aspen, Colorado. The video is one of over a hundred pieces of evidence that have been provided to the civil attorney representing the Obsumseli family as part of the investigation.
Also, Clenney is seen accusing Obumseli of having an affair, a claim he refutes.
