Supreme Court Affirms Bala Mohammed As Bauchi governor

Sen. Bala Muhammad is ruled by the Supreme Court to be the duly elected governor of Bauchi State

On Friday, the Supreme Court affirmed Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed's election.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Sadique Abubakar, filed an appeal to contest the results of the state's March 18, 2023, gubernatorial election. The appeal was dismissed by the supreme court in its lead ruling, which was delivered by Justice Ibrahim Saulawa.

Governor Mohammed, the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) nominee, was challenged by Abubakar and his party as the legitimate loser of the gubernatorial election.

They claimed that multiple electoral forms used in the poll were improperly filled out and that the election was not carried out in a way that substantially complied with the Electoral Act of 2022.
