EFCC To Spend N1bn On Local Travel, 413m On Vehicles
Reportedly, the EFCC will spend N413 million on cars, N2 billion on domestic and international travel, and other expenses
N1,055,633,61 billion has been set aside by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for local travel expenses.
The report's analysis of the 2024 budget reveals that the commission also allocated N113.4 million for training related to local travel, N389.6 million for transportation related to international training, and an additional N173.6 million for “international travel & transport: others.”
Subsequent investigation revealed that the anti-graft agency would fuel the commission cars with N164.3 million while spending N413 million on new cars.
In addition, N273.3 million was set aside for generator fuel, with N156.8 million designated for electricity costs.
It went on to demonstrate that N186.6 million would be used for legal services and N271.2 million would be used for security operations carried out by the organization. Along with N413.7 million for the purchase of fixtures and shelves for its headquarters and zonal commands, N71.3 million is allocated for meals and refreshments. An additional N352.1 million will be used for office building and residential quarter maintenance.
It indicated that N65.2 million would be used to print security documents, while N46 million would be used to print non-security documents. Additionally, N44.1 million would be spent on “annual budget expenses and administration.”
Additionally, N455 million would be paid for insurance premiums.
