Access Holdings Plc’s Board of Directors has announced the passing of its Chairman, Bababode Osunkoya



Bababode Osunkoya, the chairman of Access Holdings Plc's board of directors, has passed away.


Osunkoya, who was selected to chair the Access Holdings board a little over a year ago, was said to have passed away, after a brief illness.


Osunkoya passed away on Tuesday, according to a declaration that was submitted to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) yesterday.


“Consequent upon the tragic event, the company now has a nine-member board comprising of six non-executive directors (two of whom are independent) and three executive Directors inclusive of the group chief executive officer,” stated the statement, which was signed by Sunday Ekwochi, the company secretary. During his tenure as the holdings’ chairman of the board, the bank posted record profits and saw key ratios rise.


In addition to Access Holdings Plc, he serves as a board member of the following organizations: Haggai Mortgage Bank Limited, Richardson Oil & Gas Limited, Guiding Light Assembly, Freedom Foundation (Nigeria), Associate Member of the Institute of Directors, and Senior Partner at Abax-Oosa Professionals.
