Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu yesterday named Olalekan Bakare-Oki as Acting General Manager
Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, has accepted Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki's appointment as the Acting General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) effective immediately.
“The appointment of Bakare-Oki is for better performance, eradicating incidences of misdemeanors among staff and continued efficient/effective traffic management on Lagos roads,” according to a statement released by Mr. Olawale Musa, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation.
Prior to his recent appointment as General Manager, Bakare-Oki began his career with the Lagos State Public Service on April 25, 2000, and progressed through the ranks to become the Deputy Director of the Logistics and Engineering Department of LASTMA.
He graduated with a master’s degree in transportation planning and management from the University of Lagos, and he has participated in numerous local and international capacity-building workshops on multimodal traffic control systems.
Musa, who was recently named General Manager, was congratulated and asked to demonstrate that Governor Sanwo-Olu has faith in his selection by rising to the challenge and using his extensive background to lead the Agency to new heights.
The Permanent Secretary also thanked Mr. Governor on behalf of the departing General Manager, Mr. Bolaji Oreagba, for his hard work, devotion, and honorable service to the state.
All indications pointed to Oreagba's departure following his formal retirement from the military.
