Supplementary Budget: N1.5 Billion To Be Spent By FG On Cars For The First Lady's Office
The National Assembly was presented with President Bola Tinubu's N2.1 trillion 2023 Supplementary Budget, which includes N800 billion set aside for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to hold the governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi states during the off-season.
At the FEC meeting on October 23, held in Abuja, the council adopted the fiscal strategy papers (FSP) and the 2024–2025 medium-term expenditure framework (MTEF), a move that resulted in the extraordinary budget amount being revealed.
The extra budget, if approved by the national assembly, will bring the entire budget of the nation to N28.17 trillion.
The budget states that FG plans to purchase official vehicles for the first lady's office at a cost of N1.5 billion.
Similarly, N4 billion would be used to renovate Mr. President's official residence, Dodan Barracks, and another N3 billion will be used to renovate the vice president's official quarters in Lagos.
