"You Tried To Kill Me" - Senator Natasha Remarks While Dismissing Kogi Governor Yahaya's Congrats [VIDEO]
Following her victory at the Appeal Court, Governor Yahaya Bello sent a congrats message to Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of the Kogi Central Senatorial District. However, the senator declined the congratulations.
On Tuesday, October 31, the Court of Appeal in Abuja upheld Natasha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the victor of the Kogi Central Senatorial election, which was conducted in February.
In a ruling, the three-member court rejected the appeal submitted by All Progressives Congress (APC) senator Abubakar Ohere and maintained the ruling of the state's electoral tribunal.
Following his participation in the National Police Council meeting at the Presidential Villa Abuja on Tuesday, the state governor congratulated the former PDP candidate for governor.
Nevertheless, Natasha stated in an interview with Channels Television: "I would pretty much wish you had not played the Governor's message here because I'm just getting to watch it now.
"He said this is the beauty of politics, this is not the beauty of politics. You don't endanger yourself, set out to kill people, destroy property and frustrate the electoral process because you want your candidate to win and call it the beauty of democracy
" heard guns, I had his hunchmen shoot at my vehicle. I have video evidence of that. They wore APC shirts and one of them was Amoka, he was actually a Returning Officer... he led the group of 10 men to shoot at me. I have the videos capturing that.
"And apart from that, a day to the election, the governor dug five gullies, cutting off five roads and that was just to prevent election from going on and probably endangering my life.
"It was a day to the election but thank God we had the payloaders and I went all night; we had to cover the gullies so that the election could take place."
