The All Progressives Congress (APC) won both Imo and Kogi states in the off-cycle election, according to Hope Uzodimma, the incoming governor of Imo state, who claims this indicates that Nigerians are satisfied with the party.

Recall that on November 11, the National Electoral Commission (INEC) held off-cycle governorship elections in the states of Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi.

While the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won Bayelsa, the All Progressives (APC) secured victory in Kogi and Imo.

President Bola Tinubu received certificates of return from Uzodimma and Kogi governor-elect Usman Ododo on Friday at the presidential palace in Abuja. APC's wins in the states of Kogi and Imo, according to Uzodimma, during the visit demonstrated the party's “growing popularity.”

According to Uzodinma, they came to show the president the certificate as a token of gratitude for his national leadership. “You recall that the election of November 11, our great party, APC, is growing in popularity and came out successfully in Kogi and Imo stattes, Uzodimma said.”

Our electoral triumph demonstrates that Nigerians are extremely satisfied with the APC. Nigerians cast their ballots in large numbers for the president, and the results of the elections in Kogi and Imo states support this assertion. “So we have come to honour the president and also use the opportunity to thank him for his support, advice, and wisdom. He imparted on us and achievements he has recorded since he became the president which most of us leverage on to be able to convince the voters to vote for us.”
