Diddy is being sued by Cassie, his ex-girlfriend, for allegedly abusing and raping her for ten years

Sean Combs, popularly formerly known as Puff Daddy but now Diddy, is an American hip-hop artist who has been brought before the courts on charges of raping and trafficking in sex over his ten-year relationship with singer Cassie.

The lawsuit, which was submitted to the Manhattan U.S. District Court, lists Combs Enterprises, Epic Records, Bad Boy Records, and Bad Boy Entertainment as defendants as well.

Diddy is sued for $30 million by Cassie, who claims that he was sexually assaulted and physically abused him repeatedly during their relationship.

In a statement released on Thursday, November 16, Cassie, whose actual name is Casandra Ventura, said that she had been trapped in a violent and abusive cycle for ten years.

"After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships," she said.

In her lawsuit, Cassie claimed that in 2005, at the age of 19, Combs, then 37, enticed her into a romantic connection by signing her to his record label, Bad Boy Records.

After a few years, he forced her into a sexual connection and "advised her to obtain illicit prescriptions to satisfy his own addictions and lead a lifestyle of excessive alcohol and substance abuse."

The lawsuit alleges that after Cassie tried to leave him, Combs "blew up" another man's car and sexually assaulted her in her house. He also allegedly frequently kicked and battered Cassie.

And it says Combs "forced Ms. Ventura to engage in sex acts with male sex workers while masterbating and filming the encounters."

"Throughout their relationship Mr. Combs was prone to uncontrollable rage, and frequently beat Ms. Ventura savagely.

"These beatings were witnessed by Mr. Combs' staff and employees of Bad Boy Entertainment and Mr. Combs's related businesses, but no one dared to speak up against their frightening and ferocious boss," the suit alleges.

Combs, who has an estimated net worth of $1 billion however denies the allegations, accusing the singer of trying to extort him.

"Ms. Ventura's demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail.

Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs' reputation, and seeking a pay day," his lawyer, Ben Brafman, said in a statement, according to CNBC.
