Group Assigns North-East Stakeholders The Job Of Rehabilitating The Region

Governors, legislators, and Vice President Kashim Shettima have all been urged by the North East Development Association, or NEDA, to develop sustainable technologies for the region's recovery.

NEDA's Secretary General, Bitako Umar, made the request on the organization's behalf during a news conference on Tuesday in Abuja titled "Conference on Politics and Development in the Northeast Sub-region."

According to Umar, NEDA convened to discuss political trends and regional development initiatives in its capacity as an advocacy and sociocultural body that represents the sub-region.

According to him, the group chose to bring important stakeholders' attention to local problems in an effort to accelerate the region's recovery from the destruction caused by insurgency, conflicts, and other related criminal inclinations.

"The Association resolved as follows: That, it is pertinent for critical stakeholders of the sub-region to constantly bear in mind that the region was a big hub for agricultural and business activities.

"This was before the advent of the so- called Boko-Haram and communal clashes that befell the region.

"Hence, the need for collective and supportive collaboration in bringing back the lost glory of the region, bearing in mind the fight towards the restoration of peace and security," he said
