"He's almost undroppable..."
Following his team's 3-1 Premier League victory over West Ham United on Saturday, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola singled out forward Julian Alvarez for praise.
After Manchester City overcame a deficit to defeat West Ham at the London Stadium, Guardiola remarked that the Argentina international is "almost undroppable."
The Spaniard commended Alvarez for filling in for Kevin de Bruyne while he was out.
James Ward-Prowse gave West Ham the lead in the opening period, but Jeremy Doku tied the score with his first goal for Man City since moving to the Etihad from Rennes for £55.5 million during the summer transfer window.
After Bernardo Silva had given Guardiola's team the lead with a beautiful ball from Alvarez, Erling Haaland scored to give the Premier League champions a victory over David Moyes' team.
Guardiola made the following comments during his post-game press conference: "We had doubts because he (Alvarez) came from Bolivia with jet lag. He was so tired the day before yesterday.
"He felt better, and we spoke with him last night, and he said he felt good. He is learning a lot about how to move in the pockets. He is a threat with goals and assists, the work ethic. We are delighted that the club brought him last year.
"[Ilkay] Gundo left, and unfortunately, with the injury to Kevin [De Bruyne], he has his chance and he is using it. Now he is almost undroppable."
