American Rapper Jeezy Fires For Divorce After Two Years Of Marriage
American rapper Jeezy reportedly files for divorce from TV hostess Jeanie Mai after two years of marriage
Rapper Jeezy, who is based in Atlanta, and TV host Jeannie Mai Jenkins are getting divorced after two and half years of marriage.
According to People, legal documents that the publication was able to get show that Jeezy filed in Atlanta on September 14, 2023, declaring that his marriage to Jenkins is "irretrievably broken" and that they are "currently living in a bona fide state of separation."
During one of Jeezy's appearances on the former daytime talk show The Real in 2018, the two first started dating. They initially kept their connection a secret. "Jeezy and I hang out," Jenkins told co-hosts Loni Love, Adrienne Bailon, and Tamera Mowry during a January 2019 episode. "He's very special to me... we don't really have a label to define what it is we're doing."
Later that year, the couple made their relationship public when they went to Jeezy's Sno Ball gala together. Jenkins told People that she and the rapper had a "magnetic attraction" and a "passion to serve." They eventually married in 2021 at their Atlanta home in a little intimate ceremony after becoming engaged in 2020.
According to the divorce papers, Jeezy is asking for shared legal custody of their 20-month-old daughter, Monaco. There is a prenuptial agreement in force.
Jenkins and Jeezy have not responded to the break-up, which was first reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "We both grew up in households that weren't healthy marriages. We have never seen what that looks like."
