Declan Rice, Arsenal midfielder, made fun of the fact that Moises Caicedo's $115 million signing to Chelsea had already displaced him as the most expensive player in the English Premier League during the current summer transfer window.

Just over a month ago, Arsenal and West Ham reached a £105 million agreement for Rice's transfer. The fee set a new club record, and if add-ons are successful, the overall package will surpass the £100 million Jack Grealish cost Manchester City in the UK.

However, Chelsea outdid Arsenal by ultimately fending off opposition from Liverpool to buy Caicedo for a £115 million move - which establishes a new Premier League transfer record - after spending £107 million on Enzo Fernandez back in January.

Rice, who impressed during Monday night's 1-0 Premier League victory against Crystal Palace for Arsenal, has already had his astronomical transfer fee overshadowed by Caicedo.

When Caicedo's record transfer that exceeded his own price tag was mentioned, Rice laughed and jokingly remarked to Sky Sports: "I had it up on the wall for two weeks! It is come down already!"

Speaking on Arsenal's win over Palace, Rice continued: "Before the game tonight, I was on the way to the game and I just thought, just go out there and have it tonight, try and put on a show."
