Osun Governorship Election: Osogbo Is Heavily Policed As The Supreme Court Renders Its Decision

The capital of Osun State, Osogbo, has a significant police presence at key intersections and roundabouts on Tuesday morning.

The Olaiya junction, Oke-Fia and LAMECO roundabouts, Old Garage/Freedom Park, Ayetoro roundabout, Osun State High Court premises, among other places in the town, have police presence.

The Supreme Court's decision, which is scheduled to be delivered today in Abuja, may not be unrelated to the presence of the heavily armed police officers.

Remember that the Supreme Court set today, Tuesday, for its ruling on the Osun 2022 governor's race after hearing from Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Ademola Adeleke won the election, however the Osun gubernatorial election tribunal later overturned her victory.

The Appellate Court, however, overturned the tribunal's decision and ruled that Ademola Adeleke had been legitimately elected as governor of Osun.
