In a viral video, a Nigerian claimed that Igbos were requested to exit the plane so that Nigerians of other ethnicities may board and be evacuated.
However, Mrs. Francisca Omayuli, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the allegation had been investigated and that the report was false.
Omayuli asked the people to dismiss the accusation, noting that Igbos were among the first 637 Nigerians evacuated to Egypt's Aswan Border.
She stated that they are currently awaiting their return to Nigeria.
Omayuli stated that, despite scuffles between students and other Nigerian citizens owing to a lack of buses, the matter had been resolved.
