EPL: LAMPARD CLARIFIES THE REASON HE STARTED AUBAMEYANG AGAINST ARSENAL

Frank Lampard, manager of Chelsea, has stated reasons for starting Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang against his previous team.

Aubameyang makes his first return to the Emirates since his contract expired in January 2022.

He makes his Blues debut for the first game since November 2022.

"We all know Auba, for us coming in fresh in the last few weeks, he hasn't played so much as a No 9 and that's the main position where you need that freshness and sharpness.

"He showed a little bit against Brentford, he's a reference. He's got a history of scoring goals, maybe that's a reference, and with Noni he's been training really well too," Lampard said.
