EPL: ACCORDING TO SCHWARZER, CHELSEA'S STAR PLAYER LOOKED OFF AGAINST ARSENAL

Former Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer claims that N'Golo Kante 'looked off' during the Blues' 3-1 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates.

The Frenchman played the entire 90 minutes but could not save Frank Lampard's squad from suffering their sixth straight defeat under the former Everton manager.

This season, the 32-year-old Kante has been plagued by injury, appearing in just six Premier League games.

However, in the other games in which he has appeared, the France World Cup winner has proven to be one of the Blues' best performers.

"Let's not forget, this was Kante's sixth start of the season," Schwarzer told BBC.

"He looked off in terms of his touch. His passing wasn't on it. The effort was there, but this wasn't the Kante we've seen over the years.

"There are big names in the Chelsea team but they have had a dreadful season by Chelsea standards."

Two goals from Martin Odegaard and another from Gabriel Jesus helped Arsenal bounce back from a 4-1 loss to Manchester City last week and return to the top of the standings ahead of the Citizens' game against West Ham on Wednesday.
