EFCC APPREHENDS 13 SUSPECTED 'YAHOO BOYS' IN A SCHOOL IN ENUGU


In Enugu State, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) detained eighteen suspected internet scammers.


Wilson Uwujaren, the spokesperson, said in a statement on Tuesday. They were chosen from various locations throughout the state.


On Monday, thirteen of Phillips' protégés were captured during a sting operation.


Chigozie Philips, the founder of Holy Family School in Abakpa, where he allegedly teaches aspiring cybercriminals, was among the suspects.


They are Joacin Kelvin, Kelechi Ibe, Chinonso James, Udeh Isaiah, Michael Chukwuemeka, Kingsley Okorie, Henry Chidiebere, Elochukwu Chukwuemeka Michael, Nelson Nnaji.

Others include Desmond James, Özoma Chinonso Anthony, Uchenna Aka, Ozor Celestine, Ifeanyi Ozor Bright, Etuma John, Okafor Chukwuemeka, Raymond Chinaza.


Uwujaren stated that the suspects' possessions included 20 mobile phones and two laptop computers.


"The suspects have made useful statements and will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded," he added.
