BUHARI RE-APPOINTS DABIRI-EREWA AS CHAIRMAN OF NIDCOM

Abike Dabiri-Erewa has been reappointed as Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The notice was included in a document written to the Senate by the President requesting approval of her reappointment.

The former broadcast journalist was named NIDCOM chair in November 2018, after serving as Senior Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora.

The letter was forwarded to the Senate at the time, but the appointment was ratified by the Red Chamber in May 2019, the month Buhari was inaugurated for a second term.

From 2003 to 2015, Dabiri-Erewa Dabiri served in the Lagos House of Representatives, representing the Ikorodu federal constituency.

The 60-year-old politician previously chaired the House Committee on Media and Publicity and, later, the House Committee on Diaspora Affairs.
